Week 8 of Coaches Corner is one that is with a younger member of our coaching team. This person is hard working, smiley and a fantastic practitioner.

A member of the coaching team at Portishead and Bradley Stoke, always on the ball with health screening forms and one of the top Kung Fu instructors at the club.

Of course it’s Amy Kingscott! So without further ado..

Q: Amy, how long have you trained at EPiC for? And how old are you now?
Amy: Since the formation of the club

Q: Other than martial arts what other hobbies do you have?
Amy: Going to the gym, photography and childcare.

Q: Who, in your opinion, has the worst dress sense in EPiC?
Amy: Matt Roberts

Q: How often a week do you train now?
Amy: I train at the gym 3 times a week and with Epic once to twice. As well as this I am a Junior Coach and teach 4 times a week at multiple venues.

Q: What is your favourite colour and why?
Amy: Blue because it is the current colours phase I am going through.

Q: If you had to choose one song to listen to for 24 hours on repeat, which song would it be?
Amy: James Arthur, Say you won’t let go

Q: What’s your ONE standout best moment on your martial arts journey so far?
Amy: Achieving my 1st Degree Black Belt

Q: What are your plans and goals for the next 12 months?
Amy:
1 – Achieve my 2nd Degree Black Belt
2 – Compete on the Kickboxing Circuit
3 – Pass my Level 3 Early Years Education Certificate (Year 1)
4 – Make progression at the gym and within my personal fitness

Q: What is better: dogs or cats? Why?
Amy: Dog, because they are loyal and reassure you when you are feeling down.

Q: If you had to describe yourself in one word, what would it be?
Amy: Committed

Q: What are your honest opinions about teaching martial arts?
Amy: It is very rewarding and allows you to help others progress and gain knowledge through different experiences.

Q: What is your dream job?
Amy: To become a Early Years Practitioner/Teaching Assistant

Q: Final question, if you had to have one member of EPiC to sing at your future wedding, who would it be and why?
Amy: Steve Cruse! It has to be! He is a great and very individual character, who enjoys to entertain.

Amy has set some tough goals for 2017 but we know she will achieve them as she is committed and always on top of what she needs to do.
